When it’s not Okay to Call Him

Many women wonder when they should or shouldn’t call men. Often this question arises quickly after the first meeting. You meet a man, your eyes lock, and suddenly you are aware of an instant attraction. Before he leaves and you realize you may never see him again, your mind begins scrambling for ways to make a connection. Asking for his phone number seems like a good idea, but is it really appropriate? For years, women have struggled with this issue and the answer is simple, you should never make the first attempt to call a man for a relationship.

There are many creative ways and strategies that you can use to meet a man that interests you. However, these openings should be generic, friendly, and give the man plenty of breathing room. Your focus isn’t to zero in on a target, then pounce on him, hoping to catch him in your clutches and never let him escape. Meeting new men should be conducted in a manner that allows the man to take the lead at any moment. The woman only provides the environment for the man to make his move, however, once she begins to initiate phone calls after a brief encounter, she appears desperate at best, and a stalker at worst.

If you meet a man that you are interested in find a way to initiate a conversation with him, but let him ask you for your phone number. This is vitally important and will determine the future of your relationship. If he takes down your number, then you must wait for him to call you. This is your indication that he is genuinely and sincerely interested in you. If you ask him for his number, and he never calls you, but you begin calling him, there is a great chance that you are wasting your affections on someone who never would have called you in the first place. By letting him make the first move, you’ll know that he wants to talk with you and the relationship has a great chance of succeeding.

Now, suppose you meet a man, he takes your number and calls you. You then stare at your caller id, wondering whether or not to call him back, after all, his digits are right there, waiting to be used. You might even begin to think of a number of excuses you could use for calling him back. “Oh, I’m sorry, I must have hit your number on my phone by accident.” Or “I was wondering who this number belonged to, I didn’t recognize it on my phone. So, how are you doing?” Thought these might sound like great conversation starters, neither of these methods is recommended. It is best to let him call you several times and gauge the flow of the conversation. After you’ve had several conversations and are sure that you would like to continue speaking with him, you can call him back. This not only ensures that he is sincerely interested in you, but also makes it easier for you to end the communication if you are no longer interested.
